First, a little about us. We are a team of french explorers who has been doing urbex for over 10 years.

One day, after an exploration, one of us said: ‘It would be practical to have an urbex database open to everyone. Remember when you started, it was very complicated to find urbex spots“. There was nothing at the time that condensed all the urbex addresses around the world into a reliable database.

The idea was launched. What started out as a simple remark began to take shape in our minds. We talked about it for hours.

And one day one of us said why not try it. That’s how EasyUrbex was born in 2018.

For urban and rural explorers

At the beginning, the idea was to help beginners and intermediates in the practice of urbex to find addresses easily. Everything had to be in one place (on a single website), with many urbex addresses all over the world.

The explorers who come to EasyUrbex have very different motivations. Some are here in search of unique urbex locations, others are passionate about history and still others are looking to scare themselves.

As the adventure progressed, we found that our customers were not only explorers. There are also artists, whether in the world of photography, amateur cinema or music. On EasyUrbex, they can find unique settings for all their artistic creations. We also have travellers, wandering around this vast world in search of treasures to contemplate. They take advantage of their travels to look for abandoned buildings along their road-trip.

From idea to urbex reference

The release of EasyUrbex in 2018 was not an immediate success. We had to learn on the job all aspects of running an urbex sales website. But it was a rewarding experience for the whole team.

The difficult but exciting beginning

Our e-commerce website had many flaws in the beginning. When you start this kind of business, it is better to be prepared. We learned on the job, by making mistakes. Practice makes perfect, as you would say.

In 2019 EasyUrbex made a name for itself, especially in Europe. There were very few of us on the internet offering these quality services. Making urbex easier for you has always been our priority. For this, we have put (and continue to do so) all our passion for urban exploration into building an up-to-date and growing urbex database.

We centralise urbex searches, so you can explore easily. Many explorers of all nationalities have helped us along the way. Thanks to them. It is physically impossible to be everywhere at once, to discover urbex places around the world on a daily basis. We have to rely on the urbex knowledge of explorers scattered all over the world.

As everyone will remember, 2020 was a special year marked by the Covid-19 pandemic. It was also the year that EasyUrbex became a trusted brand for thousands of explorers and content creators.

Since then, we have continued to grow, despite the ever-increasing competition. Today, dozens of urbex sites in several languages are also trying to exist.
